Ambassador Matanović presented letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Iraq Rashid

On April 30, 2024, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Iraq, based in Amman, Slavko Matanović, presented the letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Rashid.

During the solemn ceremony, Ambassador Matanović conveyed to the President of Iraq warm greetings, respect and best wishes from the members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed his sincere desire to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. This significant event represents another step in the affirmation and deepening of good and friendly ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Iraq.

In addition to the series of meetings he had with Iraqi officials, during his official visit to the Republic of Iraq, Ambassador Matanović met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Hussin, to whom he handed over copies of letters of credit.

Ambassador Slavko Matanović met with Jordanian Minister Mohammad Khalaileh
On May 13, 2024, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Slavko Matanović, met with the Minister of Waqf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mohammad Khalaileh.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the excellent cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represents an important aspect of the relationship between the two countries. Ambassador Matanović thanked the Jordanian minister for the warm welcome and emphasized the support that Bosnia and Herzegovina gave to the Jordanian proposal for a resolution in the UN, which refers to the war in Gaza. Also, the solidarity of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Palestinian people was emphasized and the desire for an end to the conflict as soon as possible was expressed.

Minister Khalaileh informed the ambassador about the competences and role of the Ministry that manages Islamic waqfs, mosque affairs and religious guidance. The Ministry's role in the management and protection of Islamic holy places in Jerusalem was particularly emphasized, with the central focus being on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The importance of learning the Arabic language and the exchange of students between the two countries, as well as the intention to improve cooperation in that area, were particularly emphasized during the meeting. At the end of the meeting, Minister Khalaileh presented a special plaque of the Ministry to Ambassador Matanović.
